Both the original spare and the "vintage race" Grand Sport engines were dyno tested. This is the "vintage race" engine after rebuilding. It produced 545 HP @ 6600 rpm and 516 lb/ft of torque @ 4800 rpm, while still appearing 1964 "point in time" authentic.

This is the original spare Grand Sport engine after rebuilding. Some notable details: straight plug aluminum heads with 2.02" and 1.60" valves, aluminum 377 4-bolt main "0" prefix part number block, aluminum water pump, aluminum cross ram intake manifold with four 58mm webers, prototype transistorized ignition distributor and coil, fully degreed balancer and date coded wires. The rarity of this engine dictates that it be preserved and not subjected to the possibility of vintage racing damage.
